About The Position

Jefferson Community Health & Life is hiring two registered nurses for its Surgery Department. Each opening is 24 hours per week, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. three days per week, Monday through Friday. There are no weekend or holiday shifts. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient nursing care from pre-operative assessment through intra-operative intervention and post-operative evaluation.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• PALS certification; preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques, sterilization, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• One to three years of surgical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care from pre-operative assessment through intra-operative intervention and post-operative evaluation.
• Collect, analyze, and document patient assessment data.
• Coordinate and plan needs for the surgical procedure.
• Implement and provide safe, therapeutic patient care during surgical intervention.
• Examine and evaluate patient care and procedures in the operating room, PACU, and CS.
