About The Position

Michael's House is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based, integrated treatment that addresses both addiction and co-occurring mental health issues. The Intensive Outpatient Program offers comprehensive, integrated outpatient treatment with individually tailored plans to address addiction and mental health issues in a supportive atmosphere. The integrated and holistic approach to outpatient treatment includes group, individual therapy, psychiatric, medical follow-up, and life skills classes integrated with 12-Step principles. Patient-centered care and emphasis on education set them apart. They are looking for individuals passionate about helping others find hope and healing.   • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Active CA Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current Basic Life Support CPR certification that includes AED training and hands-on skills assessment
  • 3+ years experience working in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, substance abuse recovery, detoxification, and/or outpatient healthcare settings
  • 3+ years experience working with patients experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • 3+ years experience with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and relapse prevention
  • 3+ years experience with integrative and holistic treatment approach

Nice To Haves

  • Certification through the American Heart Association preferred
  • 10+ years experience working in behavioral health, mental health, addiction treatment, substance abuse recovery, detoxification, and/or outpatient healthcare settings
  • 10+ years experience working with patients experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
  • 10+ years experience with trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and relapse prevention
  • 10+ years experience with integrative and holistic treatment approach

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and clinical support to patients experiencing addiction, mental health, and co-occurring disorders
  • Conduct nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and document clinical observations accurately and timely
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients’ effectiveness, side effects, and overall response to treatment
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
  • Support patients through their recovery process by promoting our integrative and holistic treatment approach
  • Collaborate closely with the nursing director, physicians, therapists, case managers, and team members to coordinate patient care and treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant medical records in accordance with facility policies, HIPPA, CARF, and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Respond appropriately to patient concerns, crisis situations, and medical or behavioral health emergencies while ensuring patient safety at all times
  • Promote a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment focused on respect, healing, and recovery
  • Ensure confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standard of care
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, compliance initiatives, and ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Demonstrate flexibility, accountability, and commitment to quality patient care
