About The Position

The RN - Pediatrics position is based in Revere and provides nursing care in a busy, fast-paced primary care pediatrics setting. The role is split between direct patient care (50%) and triage and vaccines (50%). The nurse interprets medical care plans, assesses patients and makes clinical decisions about nursing care, ensures safe and competent care, provides individualized nursing care, and evaluates care for groups of patients. This position requires patient care and is scheduled every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing required; a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience cannot be accepted in lieu of a degree.
Registered Nurse state license required.
Clinical nursing experience of 1–2 years required.
Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
Knowledge of care required by the age groups served.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

Two years of RN experience strongly preferred.
One year of pediatrics RN experience strongly preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Administer medications and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
Provide direct patient care in primary care pediatrics.
Perform patient triage and administer vaccines.
