About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care within a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will have strong Med/Surg Rehab experience, pediatric nursing skills, and the ability to provide excellent care to pre-operative and post-operative patients and their families.

Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York required
  • Minimum of two (2) years of Med/Surg Rehab experience in a large acute care hospital setting required
  • Most recent relevant experience must be within the past year
  • Strong clinical skills in: Physical assessment, Medication administration, Wound care and infection control, IV therapy, Post-operative care, Patient education, Telemetry monitoring
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills required
  • Current BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required
  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university required

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
  • Provide direct bedside nursing care for pediatric pre-operative and post-operative patients
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses and adverse reactions
  • Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertions, and IV therapy
  • Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as needed
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs, assessments, and clinical progress
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams regarding treatment plans and discharge planning
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, and post-operative care instructions
  • Maintain accurate patient files, medical charts, and electronic health records
  • Adhere to nursing best practices, infection control standards, and patient safety protocols
  • Provide compassionate and family-centered patient care in a pediatric setting
