About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work a 36-hour night shift (7p – 7:30a) on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The RN will typically work every 3rd weekend and cover 1 holiday, subject to change based on census and staffing. While there is no on-call requirement, the RN may be asked to take a rare call day during times of fluctuating census/staffing. The RN will be required to float to other units in times of low volumes or coverage crisis, although this is not expected. While ventilator patients are not typically admitted to this unit, the RN may be required to care for a ventilated patient in rare circumstances based on patient needs and staffing requirements. Candidates should be comfortable providing care to ventilated patients if needed.

Requirements

• BLS required
• ACLS required
• Minimum of three (3) years cardiac step-down experience
• Experience with heart cath recovery
• Experience with cardiac drips
• Experience with post-op open-heart patients
• Experience with other cardiac/med-surg step-down patients
• Experience with Open-Heart
• Experience with Epic EMR

Nice To Haves

• Comfortable providing care to ventilated patients if needed
