The Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality care based on established clinical protocols and physician/provider orders. The RN collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and desired outcomes, while maintaining a supportive and compassionate environment for patients and their families. This is a full-time position on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Northwest Health - Porter Hospital, working 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The PCU is a 30-bed unit with a 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, serving as a critical care step-down from the ICU. It handles cardiac and neuro patients, as well as patients with acuity too high for med/surg. This unit is considered a great starting point for RNs interested in specializing in ICU or Trauma areas.
