About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Stepdown unit. This position requires expertise in post-surgical care, specifically for patients undergoing abdominal and colorectal surgeries. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This is a 32-bed unit that specializes in caring for patients post-abdominal, colorectal, and other major surgeries, including: Colectomy, Bowel resection, Ostomy procedures, Hernia repairs, Urological procedures (TURP, kidney stones, prostatectomy), Orthopedic surgeries (hip and ankle fractures, amputations), Plastic surgery (debridements), Specialty wound care and surgical drain management.

Requirements

• 1 year of progressive care/step down nursing experience required.
• ADN or BSN required.
• Active KS or multistate RN license required with no hits allowed.
• AHA BLS certification is required at the time of submission.
• Required immunization documentation includes: Hepatitis B, MMR, and Varicella immunity (by titer or proof of vaccination series), Tdap vaccine, Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season, Tuberculosis documentation.

• Managing specialty wound care and surgical drain management.
