The Staff RN - Ambulatory Services provides therapeutic, patient- and family-centered care as an active member of an interprofessional team. Wound care, general infusion, and bladder instillations make up the majority of care in the Outpatient Care Center. The nurse systematically collects and assesses patient health information, develops and evaluates plans of care, uses evidence to guide clinical decisions, coordinates care across settings, and considers safety, effectiveness, and fiscal accountability in care delivery. The RN delegates and supervises care in accordance with the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act, participates in continuous quality improvement, and takes responsibility for professional development. Depending on role needs, responsibilities may include ACLS, rhythm interpretation and defibrillation, administration of advanced lifesaving medications, protocol-based RN-only visits, specialty education, sedation, telemetry monitoring and rhythm-change management, assistance with complex procedures, advanced wound therapy, central-line management, device interrogation, and complex infusions. Work may also include care coordination, direct care, patient education, telephone triage or eVisits, and assisting with minor procedures. The position is primarily based at the West Bend Hospital Outpatient Care Center and may also cover the Menomonee Falls Outpatient Care Center or float to other areas as operationally needed. Availability must be at least 36 hours per six-week schedule, negotiable, with flexibility to cover vacancies, leave, PTO, and unforeseen call-ins.
