About The Position

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, provides compassionate, dignified care to families across southwest Florida. The RN Care Center nurse identifies and coordinates patient and family needs and provides preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patients and their families. The RN uses assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and quality of life, and oversees and supervises LPNs and/or aides providing care in the GIP environment. The RN reports to the Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager and is required to float if needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of recent bedside nursing experience.
• At least one year of current active nursing experience.
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Valid Florida State Driver’s License.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Experience caring for terminally ill patients or patients with life-threatening illnesses.
• One year of experience in an acute or post-acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient and family needs.
• Provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patients and their families.
• Use assessment, intervention, and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and quality of life.
• Oversee and supervise LPNs and/or aides in delivering patient care in the GIP environment.
• Float if needed.
