About The Position

Responsible for providing total direct nursing care to assigned patients in accordance with established standards of care and hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Staff in the Ortho and Spine Center of Excellence (OSCE) complete specific orientation for orthopedic and spine care pathways, including department-specific orientation and eight hours of education under the annual training plan.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program: nursing diploma, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and/or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or holding a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS from the American Heart Association by the start date.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and act as a patient advocate.
Assess the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
Coordinate education for patients and their families or significant others.
Continuously plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, involving patients and their families or significant others in the process.
Work with physician partners and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family care plans.
Communicate relevant information, including patient information, safety issues, equipment problems, and quality issues, promptly to the immediate supervisor.
Communicate and document changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse or supervisor and physician.
Perform other duties as assigned.
