About The Position

Responsible for the total direct nursing care of patients within established standards of care and hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines. Staff in the Ortho and Spine Center of Excellence (OSCE) complete specific orientation related to orthopedic and spine care pathways. Program staff receive department-specific orientation and eight hours of education per year under the annual education training plan, focused on orthopedic and spine care.

Requirements

Graduate of a nursing program (Nursing Diploma, ADN, BSN, and/or MSN).
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or hold a multistate Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license.
Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association by the start date.

Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN).

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care and function as a patient advocate.
Assess the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
Coordinate patient and family/significant other education.
Continuously plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, incorporating the patient and family/significant other into the process.
Participate with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement the patient and family/significant other plan of care.
Communicate relevant information, including patient information, safety issues, equipment problems, and quality issues, to the immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
Communicate and document changes in patient condition promptly to the charge nurse or supervisor and physician.
Perform other duties as assigned.
