About The Position

The operating room cares for a wide variety of patients and provides services across orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, GYN, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma. The facility is a Level 1 trauma center, has two Da Vinci robots used by multiple services, and offers liver, kidney, and heart transplant procedures.

This assignment is scheduled for 13 weeks, beginning December 7, 2026. The schedule is three 12-hour days per week (36 hours weekly), with rotating day/evening/night shifts. On-call and callback, floating, and work on weekends and holidays may be required according to unit needs. Gross weekly pay is $2,520 for 36 hours, comprising $28 per hour in taxable W-2 wages and a non-taxable stipend of $1,512 per week.

Requirements

• Current RN license issued by New York State; only a New York State license is accepted.
• Two years of operating-room experience in a Level 1 trauma setting.
• Ability to scrub and circulate.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• Telemetry experience is highly desired.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• Preferred surgical experience includes transplant, plastics, and reconstructive cases.
• Craniotomy experience.
• Strong orthopedic background.

Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate in the operating room.
• Provide operating-room care for a wide range of surgical specialties and trauma cases.
• Participate in on-call and callback coverage, floating, and weekend and holiday work as required by unit needs.
