About The Position
The Cardiac Operating Room Registered Nurse provides care for a wide variety of adult cardiac surgery patients, including patients undergoing CABG, TAVI/TAVR, and heart failure procedures involving VADs, ECMO, artificial hearts, and heart transplants. Using a multidisciplinary approach, the OR staff cares for patients of all ages. The nurse must be able to independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac cases. The assignment is in Rochester, New York, for a 13-week term beginning December 7, 2026. The schedule is three 12-hour shifts per week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., for 36 hours weekly. Gross weekly pay is $3,096, consisting of $44 per hour in taxable W-2 pay and a non-taxable stipend of $1,512 per week.
Requirements
- Current RN license issued by New York State.
- Two years of experience required.
- Ability to circulate and scrub.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Operating room experience in a Level I trauma center.
- Transplant experience.
- TAVI/TAVR experience.
- Telemetry experience, provided the clinician has ACLS.
Responsibilities
- Independently scrub and circulate complex adult cardiac cases, including CABGs, structural heart cases such as Bentall procedures, minimally invasive procedures such as Mini Aortic Valve Replacement, and heart failure cases such as Impella.
- Provide operating room care to a wide variety of cardiac surgery patients as part of a multidisciplinary team.
