The Operating Room Registered Nurse functions as an experienced perioperative professional who is proficient across at least five (5) surgical service lines, demonstrating adaptability and competency in a multidisciplinary surgical environment. The RN demonstrates proficiency in delivering high-quality, age-specific patient care and develops effective working relationships with all members of the ASC and Clinic. Communicates information effectively, appropriately, and courteously regarding patient conditions to physicians, anesthesia, leadership, staff, patients, families, and visitors. Performs safe and competent operative nursing care according to organizational policies, AORN standards, and ASPAN standards.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher
  • Active Texas RN license or compact license A
  • Basic Life Support certification through American Heart Association
  • 2+ years RN in Operating Room
  • RN experience in ASC, or hospital setting
  • Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • ACLS; PALS

Responsibilities

  • Ambulatory Surgery Center or hospital experience; multi-site or float experience preferred
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in delivering high quality age specific patient care.
  • Develop effective working relationships with all members of the ASC and Clinic
  • Communicate information effectively, appropriately, and with courtesy regarding patient conditions to those who require the information including physicians, anesthesia, management, staff, patients, families, and visitors
  • Perform safe and competent operative nursing care according to the organization’s policy & procedures.
  • Perform safe and competent operating room nursing care according to the organization’s policy & procedures & AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses) standards and or ASPAN (American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nursing) standards
