About The Position

This role is within a 164-bed facility that provides care for long-term residents and post-acute rehabilitation patients. The facility has two floors, each with designated units focusing on patient specialties such as general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries, and cancer. The mission is to provide goal-oriented, compassionate care to help patients live healthy, active lives to the greatest level possible. The facility is located on a 10-acre campus with indoor and outdoor spaces designed to improve independence, strength, and confidence. Most patient rooms are private with an attached bathroom and shower, television, phone, and a large window. Each unit has a large living and dining space with menu-based meal service.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing
  • State of MI Registered Nurse (RN)
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an approved nursing program
  • State of MI Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) upon hire
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program
  • Healthcare experience

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrates competency through the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Upholds the standards of professional performance: ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.
