About The Position

Corewell Health is offering up to $7,500 in sign on bonuses for this opportunity! The Kentridge facility has 2 floors and 164 beds, providing care for long-term residents and post-acute rehabilitation patients. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population served. The facility includes a long-term care unit and a rehab unit, with specialized units focusing on general rehab, neuro rehab, traumatic brain injuries, and cancer. The center offers integrated services with a mission to provide goal-oriented, compassionate care for patients to live healthy and active lives. The Kentridge campus spans 10 acres with indoor and outdoor spaces designed to improve independence, strength, and confidence. It features two main floor courtyards for rest and renewal. Most patient rooms are private with attached bathrooms and showers, televisions with cable, phones, and large windows. Each unit has a large, accessible living and dining space, and offers a menu-based meal service.

Requirements

  • Associates in Nursing (for RN)
  • State of MI Registered Nurse (RN) (for RN)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (for LPN)
  • Completion of an approved nursing program (for LPN)
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program (for LPN)
  • Healthcare experience (for LPN)
  • State of MI Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) upon hire (for LPN)

Responsibilities

  • Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
  • Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health.
  • Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Under the direction of the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician and in collaboration with other members of the health care team, contributes to the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
  • Informs patients and families about treatments and medications being received, equipment being utilized, and other related activities as appropriate, in coordination with the RN/Mid-level Provider/Physician.
  • Documents care provided via computer/written patient record in a manner consistent with guidelines.
