RN - Oncology, Nights
About The Position
The Oncology unit at Piedmont Athens Regional is home to medical oncology, surgical oncology, comfort care, and inpatient hospice patients. The unit is CoC accredited, offering multiple education opportunities for the team to provide informed, oncology-centered care. Nurses are or become chemotherapy/biotherapy administration certified through ONS and are proud to administer and educate patients and their support systems about these medications. The team strives to provide compassionate, high-quality care from admission to discharge. The Oncology unit provides nursing care to patients utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The staff nurse functions within the framework of the organization's policies and procedures, demonstrating professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. Patient ratios are determined by various factors, including volume and acuity of patient needs, and extenuating circumstances may determine a need for lower or higher ratios.
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
- No experience required
- New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
- RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
- 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)
