About The Position

The RN in the NICU provides high-quality, compassionate care to newborn patients and emotional support to their families at Union Hospital’s 15-bed, Level III NICU. The unit is the largest in a 70-mile radius and was the first NICU in Indiana. The position involves assessing patients, contributing to care plans, supporting patient education and self-care, and assisting physicians with special procedures. Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN program.
• Hold an Indiana RN license.
• Hold BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Previous RN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the physician or manager to determine patient needs.
• Complete routine physical assessments systematically using common assessment skills.
• Contribute to plans of care for predefined patient problems.
• Respect patients’ rights, including the right to be informed, privacy, confidentiality, and the right to refuse care.
• Assist with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence.
• Follow company policies, procedures, and department protocols.
• Assist the physician with special procedures.
