About The Position
The RN provides patient care in Union Hospital’s 15-bed, Level III NICU, which serves newborns requiring hospitalization and treatment. The unit is recognized for compassionate, high-quality care and support for infants’ families. The role contributes to patient care in collaboration with physicians and managers, supports patient education and independence, and follows applicable policies, procedures, and department protocols.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited ASN or BSN program.
- Hold an Indiana RN license.
- Previous RN experience is required.
- Hold BLS, NPR, and STABLE certifications.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the physician or manager to determine patients’ needs.
- Complete routine physical assessments using common assessment skills in a systematic manner.
- Contribute to plans of care for predefined patient problems.
- Respect patients’ rights, including the rights to information, privacy, confidentiality, and refusal of care.
- Assist with patient education to promote self-care and patient independence.
- Follow company policies and procedures and department protocols.
- Assist the physician with special procedures.
