About The Position

Trustbridge, part of Empath Health, is hiring a recent-graduate registered nurse for a 12-month Nurse Residency program focused on hospice care. The program prepares Nurse Residents to care for hospice patients and families and to become Certified Hospice Nurses after completing the program. Exam fees are covered by Empath Health.

The program includes six months of practical experience in a hospice house setting, supported by a Hospice Clinical Coach/Preceptor, with a 3:1 Nurse Resident-to-Clinical Coach ratio. Residents also attend weekly classroom education and scheduled rotations with other hospice teams and the Home, ALF, and Admissions service lines. In the seventh month, the Nurse Resident joins their new team and receives continued individualized orientation as needed.

The schedule is 40 hours per week, typically consisting of three 12-hour shifts in the Hospice House and four hours of clinical education per week. No medical/surgical experience is necessary. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

• Must have less than one year of RN experience to qualify for the residency program.
• ASN or BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current Florida RN license or multi-state compact license.
• Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and means of transportation.
• Medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before direct participant contact.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical experience with hospice or ALF patients is preferred.

Responsibilities
