About The Position

Join the high-acuity Neuro Ortho unit at George Washington University Hospital, a leading academic medical center. The unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Unit and Level IV Epilepsy Center, caring for patients with stroke and other neurologic conditions, traumatic brain injuries, and spine and orthopedic surgery needs. This role offers experience in neuro and trauma care, clinical support and leadership, professional growth opportunities, and staffing models designed for high-acuity care. Scheduling includes self-scheduling options and balanced weekend rotations.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
• BLS certification.
• Current state nursing license.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities.
• Meet requirements specified for the specialty unit.

Nice To Haves

• One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care for neuro, trauma, and post-operative patients.
• Monitor and assess complex neurologic conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Support patients and families through recovery and education.
