About The Position

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse works within the organization’s policies and procedures and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The role is responsible for maintaining standards of practice and coordinating the patient-care activities of assigned staff to provide quality nursing care. The position is in the Joint & Spine/Neuroscience Unit (Med Surg 3) at Piedmont Eastside in Snellville, Georgia. This 17-bed hybrid unit specializes in acute CVAs and TIAs, postoperative knee, hip, and spinal surgery care, and care for other medical-surgical patients. The unit uses EPIC and provides bedside shift-change handoffs, purposeful safety and service rounding, quality initiatives, unit educator support, charge-nurse operational support, virtual nurse assistance with admissions and discharges, a nurse extern program, a residency program, and a Career Advancement Program.

Requirements

Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
Current Georgia Registered Nurse license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification.
Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Hospital nursing experience preferred; acute-care or hospital experience is highly preferred.
