About The Position
The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The nurse works within organizational policies and procedures, demonstrates professional growth and accountability, maintains standards of practice, and coordinates assigned staff’s patient-care activities to support quality nursing care. The Joint & Spine/Neuroscience Unit (Med Surg 3) is a 17-bed hybrid unit specializing in acute CVAs and TIAs and postoperative care for knee, hip, and spinal surgery patients. The unit also cares for other medical-surgical patients. Its practices and resources include bedside shift handoff, purposeful rounding, quality initiatives, a unit educator, charge-nurse support, EPIC, virtual nurses for admissions and discharges, a nurse extern program, a residency program, and a Career Advancement Program.
Requirements
- Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing.
- New graduates of a nursing program are eligible; no experience is required.
- Current Georgia Registered Nurse license or NLC/eNLC multistate license.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Nursing experience in a hospital setting.
- Advanced certification in the field of specialty, if applicable.
