About The Position

The RN - MedSurg, Nights position is at Piedmont Eastside, specifically on the Med Surg 1 Unit. This unit serves a general adult patient population in a 23-bed acute care setting, handling a wide range of illnesses and injuries with varying complexities. The role involves collaboration with Physicians, Pharmacists, and various therapy disciplines (Physical, Occupational, Speech, Respiratory). The unit offers ongoing professional development and is supported by a Charge Nurse, PCTs, Unit Secretary (Day), Unit Based Educator, and Clinical Manager. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are team players, and are interested in professional growth. A sign-on bonus of up to $10K is available.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
  • No experience required (New Graduates of a nursing program eligible)
  • Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
  • 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
  • Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients.
  • Functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability.
  • Maintains standards of practice and coordinates patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.
  • Performs patient assessments, including collection of data regarding the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and health history.
  • Appropriately evaluates the developmental age of the patient when performing assessments, treatments, and patient/family education.
  • Organizes patient data into the formulation of a plan of care; identifies additional information needed and makes care decisions based on identified needs.
  • Identifies expected patient outcomes.
  • Carries out plan of care to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provides patient care specific to the setting, identified needs, and plan, ensuring care is appropriate to the severity of the disease, condition, impairment, or disability.
  • Oversees activities of ancillary and support team members.
  • Identifies teaching opportunities and provides necessary resources for achieving patient educational goals.
  • Communicates issues/concerns to the Charge Nurse, Clinical Manager, and/or physician as appropriate.
  • Documents patient care and concerns in the patient record.
