RN - Medical Pulmonary Unit - Nights
About The Position
The RN provides nursing care on the Medical Pulmonary Unit in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The role involves assessing patients and collecting health data with input from patients, families, and other health care providers; coordinating safe, timely, and appropriate care; communicating effectively with customers; and individualizing patient and family education. The RN also contributes to quality improvement and maintains knowledge of current nursing standards, laws, and regulations. This is a full-time position working 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every other weekend required. Travel is not required.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an Associate's degree or BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure to practice nursing in the State of Illinois.
- Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and collect health data involving patients, families, and other health care providers.
- Coordinate patient plans of care to ensure interventions are consistent, safe, timely, and appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all customers in person, by phone, and in writing.
- Individualize patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment of their learning needs.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
- Maintain professional knowledge of current nursing practice standards, laws, and regulations.
