About The Position

This position is for an RN Manager in the Cardiac Holding Recovery department at UAB St Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves managing nursing unit activities, workflow, and resources, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing staff hiring, training, development, and evaluation. The manager will also identify and resolve patient care issues, develop and implement policies and procedures, and monitor and adhere to the unit's budget, including expenditures and purchases.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.

Responsibilities

Manage activities, workflow and nursing resources of assigned nursing unit(s).
Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for self and within unit.
Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the assigned unit(s).
Develop and implement policies and procedures to guarantee efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
Monitor and adhere to budget.
Approve or monitor expenditures, purchases and other actions to ensure compliance with budget guidelines.
