About The Position

Luther Park Community is seeking an RN/LPN for a Part-time 2p-10:30pm shift at Trinity Center at Luther Park, a 120-bed skilled nursing facility which specializes in Alzheimer’s care. If you are a skilled, compassionate nurse that is dedicated to making sure the best quality of care is given, we want to talk to you! We have part time opening on our 2p-10:30p working every other weekend.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved school of nursing for RN/LPN
Current nursing license in good standing in the state of Iowa
Current CPR certification preferred
One year of experience in a geriatric setting preferred
Knowledgeable with current changes in nursing practice
Excellent written and oral communication skills
A post offer employment physical, drug screen, T-spot and background check are required.

Responsibilities

Planning, organizing, and carrying out nursing care of residents.
Orienting, instructing, and supervising other personnel: CNAs, CMAs.
Complying with established policies and procedures and performing professional nursing duties within scope of licensure.
Keeping DON/ADON informed of resident status and other pertinent matters.
Admitting and orienting new residents and involving the family with orientation.
Checking physician’s orders, transfer forms and pre-admission information.
Reviewing resident’s medical and social history.
Completing admission and documentation forms.
Making sure that resident's supplies and medications are ordered and equipment is working properly.
Maintaining proper documentation of facility records i.e. narcotic records, medical chart forms and weekly skin assessment.
Maintaining daily, weekly, or monthly weight and vital signs and informing physician/DON/ADON and On Call Manager of any change.
