About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) uses the nursing process—including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes and planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents and families, providers, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The position works 8-hour night shifts and is scheduled for 32 hours per week at Good Samaritan Maplewood.

Requirements

• Hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing in the state where nursing practice occurs, or possess multistate licensure if practicing in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including CCNE-, ACEN-, or NLN CNEA-accredited programs.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to provide individualized care to residents.
• Collaborate with residents, families, providers, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care.
• Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and apply standards appropriate to the assigned clinical setting and population.
• Care for residents through preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Coordinate care, assess residents, provide resident education, and perform other nursing interventions.
• May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Provide assistance and support to delegates to promote safe, reliable resident care and resolve care and service concerns.
• Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules applicable to the state of practice and licensure.
