About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position within a Urology Clinic, requiring 40 hours per week. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, either 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. The position involves delivering direct and indirect patient care in an office setting, utilizing the nursing process. The nurse will effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members while maintaining high standards of professionalism and providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations. This includes monitoring and evaluating patient care, maintaining accurate records, educating patients and caregivers, collaborating with the care team on tasks like referrals and prior authorizations, preparing patients for examinations, monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, performing laboratory tests, adhering to infection control protocols, and supervising less skilled personnel. The role also involves maintaining adequate supply inventory.

Responsibilities

Monitor and evaluate all aspects of patient care to ensure optimal health outcomes through multidisciplinary collaboration.
Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
Instruct and educate patients and caregivers on a variety of topics including but not limited to disease management, medication use, and lifestyle modifications.
Collaborate with care team members to efficiently manage tasks such as referrals, prior authorization, phone calls, results notification, and medication refills.
Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
Monitor, assess, and report symptoms and changes in patient conditions.
Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patient's responses, conditions, and socioeconomic factors.
Prepare and administer medications appropriately as ordered by the provider utilizing the 5 rights of medication administration.
Collect and perform specified laboratory testing.
Adherence to infection control programs, advising and consulting with necessary personnel regarding precautions and PPE.
Provide guidance and supervision to less skilled nursing or other health care personnel.
Clean patient rooms, equipment and supplies between each use.
Ensure that adequate supply inventory is maintained for quality care.
Assists medical provider in the care and treatment of patients with a variety of illnesses.
Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.
Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patient for examination, and administering medication as directed by provider.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Assess the needs of individuals, families or communities, including assessment of individuals' home or work environments to identify potential health or safety problems.
Direct and coordinate infection control programs, advising and consulting with specified personnel about necessary precautions.
Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensure that stock of supplies is maintained.
Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention and childbirth, and develop health improvement programs.
Conduct specified laboratory tests.
Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
