About The Position
As an RN Lactation Consultant, you will play a vital role in promoting and supporting breastfeeding among new mothers and ensuring the optimal nutrition and health of newborns in our Neonatal Unit. You will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to provide lactation education, assessment, and assistance to mothers and families, ensuring a positive breastfeeding experience.
Requirements
- Current State of Illinois RN Professional licensure
- IBCLC (International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners) certification or pending certification with requirement to obtain within one year of hire.
- Current BLS CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum two years of previous nursery and postpartum experience.
Responsibilities
- Promote and support breastfeeding among new mothers.
- Ensure the optimal nutrition and health of newborns in the Neonatal Unit.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide lactation education, assessment, and assistance to mothers and families.
- Ensure a positive breastfeeding experience.
