About The Position

Special Touch Home Care, a leader in in-home caregiver services for over 40 years, is seeking an RN Instructor to teach approved training curricula (Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide) at their training school in Staten Island. In addition to teaching, the instructor will conduct educational in-services for existing Home Health Aides and Personal Care Aides, and administer competency evaluations. All training activities must adhere to regulations and company policies. The company is dedicated to helping clients live comfortably and independently in their homes through compassionate and personalized care.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• NYS Licensed, Registered, in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in New York
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a RN providing direct patient care at either a CHHA, LHCSA, or Hospice Program
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Provide related instruction and supervise students.
• Proctor and grade tests.
• Document students progress and complete required forms/reports in their entirety.
• Prepare and submit a course of study including program objectives, student performance objectives and lesson plans.
• Perform other duties related to this position requested by the director, program coordinator, and company management.
• Conduct educational in-services for Home Health Aides and Personal Care Aides.
• Administer HHA/PCA competency evaluations.
