About The Position

This is a 60% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) working a 12-hour day shift every Saturday and Sunday, from 6:40 am to 7:10 pm. While there are no on-call responsibilities, the nurse will work a holiday if it falls on the weekend. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The role is located at the University Hospital in Madison, WI. Additional compensation components may include shift differentials ($4/hour evening, $10/hour weekender) and overtime pay. The position is with UW Health, which is recognized as the #1 hospital in Wisconsin.

Requirements

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
6 months of recent independent PACU, Emergency Department, or Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, Operating Room, or Surgical IMC experience Required
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
3 years of recent Operating Room or PACU experience

Responsibilities

Communicate and coordinate Operating Room activities to facilitate efficiency in the surgical case progression and turnover between cases.
Implement safe, competent, and efficient patient care within policies, procedures, and standards and care plan to perioperative patients regardless of complexity.
