About The Position

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to communicate and coordinate Operating Room activities to facilitate efficiency in the surgical case progression and turnover between cases. The RN will implement safe, competent, and efficient patient care within policies, procedures, and standards and care plan to perioperative patients regardless of complexity. This position is 60% FTE, working 12-hour day shifts every Saturday and Sunday, from 6:40 am to 7:10 pm. There are no on-call responsibilities, but the nurse will work a holiday if it falls on the weekend. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The role is located at the University Hospital in Madison, WI.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
  • 6 months of recent independent PACU, Emergency Department, or Surgical Critical Care, Surgical ICU, Operating Room, or Surgical IMC experience Required
  • 3 years of recent Operating Room or PACU experience
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
