About The Position

This is a 100% FTE position, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm with weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call and in-house triage shift responsibilities. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. The role is located at American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI. The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents undergoing surgical procedures. This includes collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs, and Child Life specialists to ensure safe, patient-centered care throughout the surgical experience. The role involves serving as a pediatric circulating nurse in 6 OR suites, 2 procedural suites, and 1 hybrid OR. Responsibilities include maintaining a sterile and safe operating room environment, ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control standards, and advocating for pediatric patients and their families by offering emotional support, education, and clear communication.

Requirements

• Registration as a professional nurse in the state of Wisconsin Upon Hire
• CPR certification Upon Hire
• 6 months of relevant clinical experience

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Clinical operating room experience
• ACLS certification
• PALS certification
