Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years as registered nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years in healthcare/nursing informatics.
  • Experience with variety of clinical information systems
  • Experience with large scale implementation of Hospital Application Systems (Clinical).
  • Experience with developing training plans/materials and computer systems education/teaching
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Operating Systems.
  • Current, Active State of Maryland RN license

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Nursing Informatics or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act in conjunction with the departments of patient care services, IT, and other disciplines to coordinate aspects of assessing, planning, designing, developing, training, implementing, maintaining, supporting, and evaluating clinical information systems.
  • Manage systems including: Epic (documentation, order entry, medication administration, patient portal), Integrated Nurse Call/Personal Communication Devices/Clinical Alarms, Interactive Patient Care System, the nursing site on the hospital’s intranet, and future systems to be implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the informatics team to analyze current and future end user requirements, procedures, and workflow, in order to provide application solutions that support and improve organization, division, and or department operations.
  • Develop training materials, teach in nursing orientation, and provide ongoing education and support to meet the needs of the clinical staff in the operational use of the information systems.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures pertaining to the use of clinical information systems.
