About The Position
Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Serving over 100,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, heart care, women’s health, and a family birth center. Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
- 1 year of ICU experience in an acute care setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Institute Training, within 90 days of hire
- LA City Fire Safety Training, within 90 days of hire
Responsibilities
- Monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury surgery or life-threatening disease.
- Begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds.
- Provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan.
- Assist a physician with a यामध्ये chest tube or central line providing wound care ensuring patients MRI or CT or administering medications.
- Clinically care for your patients- remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift.
- Serve as their advocate- supporting their best interests when they cannot.
- Assess plans and implements nursing care while ensuring patient comfort.
- Anticipate identifies and responds to informational and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Guide and direct healthcare personnel (i.e. Patient Care Technicians) in caring for patients.
- Maintain knowledge of equipment setup maintenance and use (i.e. IV pumps monitoring equipment and drainage devices) Utilizes safeguards such as IV pump drug library and monitor alarms with necessary.
- Initiate emergency support measures (i.e. cardiopulmonary resuscitation protecting patient from injury).
- Assist with patient care duties/tasks (i.e. emptying drainage devices ambulating and hygiene).
