Requirements
- Current VA or compact state license.
- Associate’s degree in nursing required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- ACLS American Heart Association required.
- Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting required.
Nice To Haves
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) American Heart Association within 6 months
- Previous management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities, and performance evaluations.
- Identifies and resolves issues affecting delivery of clinical services and patient flow.
- Performs quality assurance studies and assists with implementation of QA/QI initiatives.
- Serves as a resource to staff and external contacts regarding clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitors departmental compliance with accreditation, legal, and The Joint Commission requirements.
- Provides direct patient care as needed in accordance with scope and standards of practice.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Acts as the supervisor on duty to make management decisions, provide direction and supervision with operational issues for all hospital departments.
