The Home Health Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for the overall direction of home health operations. The Clinical Operations Manager (COM) will collaborate with members of Clinical Leadership to ensure optimal customer-centric service, clinical quality and excellence, and adherence to policies and procedures in accordance with the Agency's mission and vision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program by the National League for Nursing required
  • Current, active unrestricted Registered Nurse License to practice professional nursing in the State of Nevada
  • 3+ years of management experience in a home health or related health care organization
  • Demonstrated experience to supervise and direct professional personnel
  • Project management and/or standard work development experience
  • Demonstrated thorough knowledge of current nursing practice, professional standards of care, and State & Federal regulations regarding home health
  • Experience with managing department heads/people leaders
  • Proven efficiency/process improvement principles (e.g., Lean)

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and oversight of all patient services conducted by operations personnel
  • Management of team structures, operations, and processes between Home Health departments while defining and maintaining boundaries of team operations within the agency
  • Provide guidance and counseling to coordinators and supervisors of intake and referrals, scheduling clinical education, informatics and reporting, and QAPI to assist them in continually improving all aspects of home health care services provided through organization personnel
  • Assists department supervisors with administrative oversight, process improvement, professional development, process evaluation, counseling, and planning for operations personnel
  • Assists the Executive Director/Administrator in the preparation and administration of the Agency's annual review, planning, and budget
  • Interpret operational data to manage resource availability and allocation to support Agency projects and to address potential resource conflicts
  • Evaluate performance of operations supervisors/department heads
  • Assist operations supervisors to develop skills and techniques in evaluating the performance of operations personnel. Oversee coaching and performance improvement plans to address deficiencies
  • Hires, evaluates, and terminates Agency personnel. Proactively monitor staff retention and satisfaction
  • Conducts performance evaluations annually, or more frequently as indicated
  • Collaboration with various business units within Enterprise for projects requiring Agency involvement and outcomes
  • Ensures development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures and Job Aids to streamline home health operations
  • Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, State, and Federal laws
  • Assists and guides development and implementation of on-boarding and orientation programs for new personnel. Responsible for orientation of Agency personnel, either directly or through delegation of appropriate Agency staff
  • Oversees the planning and implementing staff in-services and continuing education programs to meet education and training needs of Agency personnel
  • Facilitate ease of access and use of information platforms and databases for Agency utilization
  • Assists with evaluation of Agency performance via performance improvement programs, productivity, and annual reviews
  • Assists in the development of Agency goals. Develops, recommends, and administers Agency policies and procedures
  • Assures compliance with all Local, State, and Federal laws and regulations regarding licensure and certification of all Agency personnel
  • Promotes home health care services in the healthcare community and collaborates internal and external customers
  • In the absence of the Executive Director and Administrator, the ADON will become the acting Executive Director/Administrator, and will be vested with authority to act on behalf of the Executive Director/Administrator
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Administrator
