About The Position

Provides professional intermittent skilled nursing and individualized, family centered care to pediatric patients/families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills in accordance with standards and home healthcare policies and procedures. Varied schedules to include weekend and holiday patterns, and required call.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required
  • Minimum two years nursing experience Required
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure valid in the state of Nebraska Required
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is Required
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record/driving record Required
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure, and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills.
  • Basic Computer Skills
  • Oral and written communication skills (bilingual skills preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with pediatric patients Preferred
  • Experience in homecare environment Preferred
  • Program Specialty certification or nursing leadership certification within 1 Year Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts a complete individualized age-specific patient/family assessment according to defined home healthcare scope and nursing practice standards, nursing diagnoses, or protocols.
  • Incorporates individualized patient/family plan of care guidelines/protocols to meet identified needs.
  • Implements and evaluates nursing actions in accordance with the individualized patient/family plan of care and patient condition/needs.
  • Documentation reflects accurate assessment/evaluation, modification, and patient’s response to therapy, changes in condition, and interventions.
  • Accepts assignments to share knowledge, provide clinical support, and assist new staff through the orientation process in accordance to all designated policies and procedures.
  • Professionally seeks opportunities to help teammates during work day as needed.
  • Accepts and completes other assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participates in the on-call rotation as specified by Nurse Manager.
