About The Position

Evernorth Workplace Care provides health care delivery, population health, and health coaching solutions. Its mission is to deliver proactive, personalized, holistic care and coaching by using health data and insights to improve the health and wellness of clients’ employees and their families. The RN Health Coach provides personalized wellness support to customers, primarily through video and telephone, with emphasis on stress, anxiety, depression, and related challenges. This role is virtual and based in a dedicated home office local to Dallas, Texas, with occasional travel to Dallas-area health fairs as needed. The Health Coach assesses customer needs, develops evidence-based health improvement plans with personalized goals, and supports customers in overcoming barriers and improving outcomes. The role also involves referrals to appropriate clinical or client programs, wellness promotion and group activities, collaboration with internal and client partners, and ownership of clinical targets and outcome measurements. The coach may also assist with training or mentoring new employees.

Requirements

Active, unrestricted RN license in the respective state; ability to maintain a Compact license or additional state licenses may be required.
Current ACLS/BLS/CPR/AED certification.
At least 1 year of experience in health coaching, health education, or health promotion.
At least 3 years of RN experience in a hospital or provider’s office setting.
Minimum Associate’s degree in Nursing.
High-speed internet and a quiet office space in a committed location.
High energy level and dynamic presentation skills.
Positive role model in demonstrating healthy behaviors and passion for health improvement.
Ability to work independently and maintain a customer-centric focus.
Ability to collaborate proactively and professionally with clients and matrix partners.
Proven administrative abilities and strong computer and software application skills.
Adaptability and flexibility in a growing team.
Ability to cover multiple time zones if needed.
For home-based work, cable broadband or fiber-optic internet with at least 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
Behavioral health experience, including stress reduction.
Master’s degree in psychology or a related field.
Chronic disease management experience.
NBHWC (National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach) credential.
Motivational interviewing training or experience.
Additional languages, including Spanish.

Responsibilities

Provide customer coaching and support via video and telephone, focusing on stress, anxiety, depression, and other challenges.
Perform stress, anxiety, and depression screenings.
Identify customer health education needs through targeted health assessment activities.
Refer customers to other Cigna Evernorth clinical programs or client-specific programs when clinically appropriate.
Collaborate with customers to establish health improvement plans, set personalized evidence-based goals, and support progress toward those goals.
Empower customers to take an active role in their health outcomes and assist them in overcoming barriers to better health.
Lead and support health and wellness promotional activities, such as group coaching, wellness challenges, and health-related seminars.
Use biometric values and motivational interviewing techniques to collaborate with customers and improve clinical outcomes.
Collaborate with matrix partners to support the overall health and wellness strategy for aligned clients.
Understand and own clinical targets and outcome measurements.
Develop action plans that drive clinical value for customers and clients.
Perform additional responsibilities consistent with the scope of certification or licensure.
Provide training or mentorship to new employees as needed.
Travel to Dallas, Texas, to support health fairs if needed.
