This is a Full-Time position, working 72 hours per pay period on a 12-hour Night shift schedule, with variable days including weekends and holidays. The position is located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The General Surgery & Medical Acute unit (5P) is a 36-bed General Surgery and Medical Cardiac unit located in the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute on the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus, serving bariatric, gynecological, colorectal, and medical cardiac patient populations.

Requirements

Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
One (1) year of recent RN experience
California Registered Nurse License
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in nursing
One (1) year RN experience in acute Med/Surg
EPIC EHR

Responsibilities

Monitor and recognize patient vital signs, symptoms, telemetry readings and EKG for abnormal heart rhythms or changes such as Afib, heart blocks, vtach/fib
Collaborate and establish trust with surgeons, physician assistants, cardiologist general medical practitioners, family nurse practitioners, charge nurse, nurse assistants and other various care team members to achieve optimum patient care
