About The Position

This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Night Shift, CVICU RN position located at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla – Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. The Scripps Health CVICU specializes in caring for acute patients with a variety of disease states and is a destination center for higher level of cardiac care in Southern California, implementing progressive programs and therapies. As a member of our team, you will gain experience in cardiac surgery, heart failure, shock, advanced resuscitation measures, mechanical circulatory support including ECMO, LVAD, Impella, Tandem Heart, IABP, and CRRT. The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of his/her practice, focusing on Cardiac Diagnosis. Patient care includes assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. They will work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. The ideal candidate will have one year of adult ICU experience, is committed to elevating their professional practice, and seeks to collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. The CVICU is committed to education and hands-on training opportunities to take nurses from novice to expert in cardiac care through our customized training with Clinical Mentors, Educators, and one-on-one preceptorships. Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • One (1) year of recent RN experience in an adult ICU
  • California Registered Nurse License
  • Current American Heart Association BLS
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing
  • Experience with Hemodynamic Monitoring in heart failure and cardiac surgery population
