About The Position

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Float Pool (Resource Team) at Swedish Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position requiring flexibility in shifts, including rotating days/nights, every other weekend, and rotating holidays. The RN will float across various inpatient units at Swedish Hospital, providing high-quality, individualized, goal-directed care. The role involves utilizing the nursing process, maintaining competency, contributing to professional development, integrating evidence-based practice, promoting safety, guiding staff, and ensuring thorough and timely documentation. The position reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager of the Resource Team, with additional support from site-based clinical nurse managers.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as an acute care inpatient RN.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Float across Swedish inpatient units.
  • Provide high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all levels of patients and their families.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care.
  • Maintain competency reflective of current standards practice.
  • Interact and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
  • Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
  • Integrate evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
  • Recognize and adjust to situations that vary from the norm.
  • Promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
  • Guide and supervise staff in the provision of patient care.
  • Enhance own professional growth and development.
  • Maintain a safe therapeutic working environment and recognize need for action in emergency situations.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
