About The Position

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Float Pool (Resource Team) to work the night shift at Swedish Hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week, with shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The role involves floating to various inpatient units at Swedish Hospital. Resource Team RNs are eligible for premium pay, including a Resource Team RN differential and applicable shift differentials. As an experienced practitioner, the Registered Nurse is accountable for providing high-quality, individualized, goal-directed care for all levels of patients and their families, in accordance with the Division of Nursing's philosophy. The role requires demonstrating a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital, exhibiting a service orientation, and adhering to all hospital responsibilities and standards. The nurse will utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, maintain competency, and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues. The position also involves integrating ethical provisions and evidence-based practice into nursing care, recognizing and adjusting to varying situations, promoting safety, guiding and supervising staff, enhancing professional growth, and maintaining a safe therapeutic working environment. Thorough and timely documentation is expected, along with performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience as an acute care inpatient RN.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
  • Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
  • Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
  • American Heart Association CPR Certification.
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Float across Swedish inpatient units.
  • Provide high quality, individualized, goal directed care for all levels of patients and their families.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnosis, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of nursing care.
  • Maintain competency reflective of current standards practice.
  • Interact and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.

  • Integrate evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
  • Recognize and adjust to situations that vary from the norm.
  • Promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
  • Guide and supervise staff in the provision of patient care.
  • Enhance own professional growth and development.
  • Maintain a safe therapeutic working environment and recognize need for action in emergency situations.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
