About The Position

Scripps Health is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse for the site-based Float Pool at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas. The nurse will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment and float among four major Med/Surg Telemetry units. The role includes direct patient care, coordination with a multidisciplinary team, and primary responsibility for guiding the Care Team under the nurse’s supervision.

The schedule is 48 hours every two weeks, working 12-hour night shifts from 1900 to 0730 on varied days, including some weekends and holidays. The position is eligible for a $2,000 part-time new-hire incentive, subject to eligibility and retention conditions. Requirements

• At least one year of RN experience.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association.
• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• One year of acute Medical/Surgical RN experience.
• Telemetry or Progressive Care experience.
• CMSRN certification.
• NIHSS Stroke Certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Epic EHR working experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of progress toward expected outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support optimal care for patients and their families.
• Take primary responsibility for patient care and guide the Care Team under the nurse’s supervision.
• Float among four major Med/Surg Telemetry units as part of the site-based float pool.
