About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking Registered Nurses to join their Medical Telemetry Unit at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This 38-bed unit focuses on providing high-level, individualized care to a varied medical/telemetry population. The unit offers ample learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities, including Sepsis, Pulmonary Conditions, Chest Pain, Infection, patients requiring isolation, skin and wound care, various procedures, Cardiac monitoring, GI abnormalities, and Trach care. The unit is known for its highly engaged and supportive management team, a robust Unit Based Council, flexible scheduling, and an emphasis on work/life balance.

Requirements

• Graduation from an Accredited Program.
• Specialized field of study in nursing.
• RN license.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of direct and individualized care to a varied medical/telemetry population.
• Manage patients with conditions such as Sepsis, Pulmonary Conditions or Respiratory Distress, Chest Pain, and Infection.
• Care for patients requiring isolation, including negative airflow rooms.
• Provide skin and wound care, including the use of wound vacs.
• Assist with and monitor patients undergoing procedures such as scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions, and chest tubes.
• Manage patients requiring Cardiac monitoring.
• Care for patients with GI abnormalities, Trach care, and Genitourinary abnormalities.
• Administer Enteral Feeding Tube Insertion and Maintenance.
