This is a 60% FTE Registered Nurse (RN) position in the Float Pool for Critical Care, working an 8/12 hour evening/night shift with hours between 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, including a weekend rotation. The role is located at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The nurse will float across multiple departments and specialties, caring for highly complex, critically ill patient populations in various intensive care units (ICUs) such as the Trauma Life Center, Burn ICU, Neurosciences ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU, and may float to intermediate care (IMC) units. Responsibilities include providing high-quality, evidence-based care, utilizing critical thinking skills for patient assessment and intervention, administering advanced life support therapies, and demonstrating a commitment to patient and family-centered care. The RN will partner with multidisciplinary teams, hone interpersonal communication skills, and delegate tasks. Additionally, the role offers opportunities to serve as a mentor, orient new nurses, work with nursing students, and participate in strategic planning, quality improvement, and Shared Governance.
