About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Critical Care System Wide Float Pool. This role involves providing evidence-based clinical care to patients in various adult critical care, telemetry, or transitional care units across multiple facilities (Edgewood, Grant County, Covington, Florence & Ft. Thomas, and Dearborn). Assignments may also include patients boarding in other areas such as ED, PACU, or ICU. The licensed registered nurse is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to achieve patient outcomes. The role requires demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Graduate from accredited School of Nursing.
  • Holds a BSN.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky and Indiana, or state license letter of eligibility.
  • Meets contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of nursing theory, clinical practice standards, procedures, policies, and competence in mathematical calculations associated with medication administration.
  • 18-month minimum clinical RN nursing experience.
  • Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care according to established ethical/cultural codes and standards of nursing practices.

  • Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors, and other employees regardless of cultural background.
  • Independently perform safe nursing skills and procedures.
  • Critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations.
  • Demonstrate and document competencies for the assigned clinical area.
