About The Position

Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work night shifts and float between different medical-surgical units as needed.
- Strong knowledge of nursing principles, patient care standards, and hospital protocols.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience working in a float nurse capacity or across multiple medical-surgical units.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and documentation software.
- Additional certifications such as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN).
- Demonstrated skills in patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in various medical-surgical units during night shifts, adapting to different unit protocols and patient populations.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and implement prescribed treatments accurately and safely.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and update individualized care plans.
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition, utilizing critical thinking and clinical skills to stabilize and support patients.
- Document all nursing interventions, patient responses, and clinical observations thoroughly and in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families regarding care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions to promote recovery and prevent complications.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff during night shifts.
