About The Position
The Nurse Extern performs routine duties within the limits of their training and certification in caring for hospitalized patients. Care is provided under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Depending on the demands and needs of the assigned unit, the Nurse Extern may be cross-trained to perform Unit Secretary duties. The role also performs other duties related to this work.
Requirements
- Complete the first semester of an accredited ADN or BSN program.
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program.
- Pass the NCLEX within 12 months after graduating.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for hospitalized patients.
- Provide care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- May be cross-trained to perform Unit Secretary duties depending on the demands and needs of the assigned unit.
- Perform other duties related to the work described.
